Whats the use of an alarm if it doesnt go off when the phone is in silence mode

When you sleep, you switch the silence button on so that you are not disturbed by messages to have a good night sleep. That is a given and a must when designing an alarm for phone users. The alarm is supposed to go off even when the silence switch is on. But this app doesnt.
Can someone contact me to help me solve this problem?
I like everything else but this very crucial feature.
